Nowadays celebrities are more famous for their glamour and wealth than for

their achievements, and this sets a bad example to young people.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

01、It is a well-known fact that people nowadays are overwhelmed by the

information about the glamourous and wealthy lives of the celebrities instead of

their achievements. I personally believe that it will result in negative effects

on young people.

02、On the one hand, the intentional promotion of the charm and wealth of

celebrities may create a perception of "reap without sowing". In the past, it

was celebrities’ outstanding achievements that made them famous in their

respective fields, which were then appreciated by the public. Nowadays, however,

although many people have gained their popularity, they still heavily rely on

their so-called skin-beauty and lavish lifestyles rather than the achievements,

due to the fact that the former one is easier to draw public’s attention, which

makes young people firmly believe that they can gain fortune and fame without

hardworking. Consequently, they may live in vanity but end up with nothing but

void and regret.

03、On the other hand, this phenomenon also leads young people to financial

burden. Those people lack self-control, while they are skilled at imitating.

Hence, they may spend time to know more about the sumptuous life of celebrities,

cause a great cost of personal energy and a heavy economic pressure. For

example, some young people even take out loans to follow the celebrities' ways

of dressing regardless of their economic status, which will eventually make

their normal life unsustainable.
