限制性定语从句：限定性定语从句是托福阅读中最为常见的一种，通常由which、that、who等引导，对先行词进行限定修饰。
例如：The students who live in the hostel have a much more exciting life than those who live at home.
非限制性定语从句：非限制性定语从句的作用是对所修饰的先行词进行补充说明，和主句之间通常用逗号隔开。
例如：Many Native American tribes， which have their own forms of government， lived in the American West at the time of the arrival of the Europeans.
介词+关系词的定语从句：在某些情况下，定语从句可以放在介词后面，关系词是该定语从句的主语或宾语。
例如：In the 1950s， Native American culture， which is also known as Native American traditional culture， experienced a decline in popularity.
