第一次接触托福听力天文学的小伙伴可能对nebula的概念有点陌生，那我们先来扫盲一下。Nebula(星云) is an interstellar(星际的) cloud of dust, hydrogen(氢), helium(氦) and other ionized gases(电离气体)。

现在我们就来看看托福听力真考里考察过的内容吧~

第一大类：Diffuse nebulae(不规则星云)，它们的特点是extended, no well-defined boundaries。Diffuse nebulae有三小类：

① emission nebula(发射星云)：特点是能够 emit light of various colors。例如：Omega Nebula：

② reflection nebulae(反射星云)：特点是 might reflect the light of a nearby star or stars。例如：The Witch Head reflection nebula：

③dark nebulae(暗星云)：特点是 so dense that it obscures the light fromobjects behind it, such as background stars and emission or reflection nebulae。例如： Dark nebula LDN 1768：

第二大类：Planetary nebulae(行星状星云)，之所以叫这个名字是因为第一个观察者把它们和行星混淆了。例如：Lemon slice nebula(看起来真的很像柠檬片哈)和 Butterfly Nebula：

第三大类：Supernova remnants(超新星残骸)，它是一颗将死之星的最终归宿。例如：Crab Nebula：

当然最后不能忘记Eagle Nebula，Pillars of Creation(创世之柱)就是其中一部分。
